Coolant supply

It is so crucial for the performance of the HFS tool heads regardless of axial or radial type to be provided with a coolant supply. The HFS tools provided by Kia Cutting Tools Company is equipped by internal type of coolant which is designed in two kinds; with through the head and without through the head. The difference between the mentioned coolant methods in component refers to the threaded spindle or the pull stud to connect the HFS head to the shank.

PCD Tools

Kia Cutting Tools Company provides a wide range of tools that are made of Polly crystalline cubic boron nitride (PcBN) and Polly crystalline diamond (PCD) which are called Ultra hard tool materials since they own a high wear resistance.

The new UNIBASE-M automatic tool dispensing system stands for optimum storage and management of tools, components and accessories and offers numerous innovative and user-friendly features.

UNIBASE-M is designed as a modular system for the management and dispensing of tools, which ensures quick, efficient and controlled tool availability. Starting from a basic module with computer unit it can be individually configured to suit the application. Storage is either centralised or decentralised directly at the machine.

Completely new is the intuitive software with extended functions which ensures quick, effi cient and controlled tool availability. For example, a control logic gives the user an indicated of the selected drawer. Machine standstills due to a lack of tools, huge tool stocks due to excessive goods orders or double orders, as well as time and cost-intensive ordering processes can be reduced or completely eliminated with UNIBASE-M. UNIBASE-M can be easily integrated into external ERP systems on and in existing operating facilities.

As an addition to the PerformanceMill standard ranges, milling tools with special designs are also manufactured atKiacuttingtools ; these tools are designed individually for special applications.

For example complex shapes or contours are machined using innovative circular milling cutters that have particularly high performance due to the use of tangential technology. By means of multi-stage milling tools or the combination of milling cutters with solid carbide drills, tool changes and as a result machining times can be signifi cantly reduced. In unstable machining situations or in case of large projection lengths, custom milling cutters are designed with vibration dampers to increase the machining quality and tool life.

Laser eroded chip breakers allow optimum clearance from the working area of material which has been removed. This means that stoppages in ongoing production caused by chip jams are avoided.

To achieve the required concentricity on the spindle, modular tool holder systems are used. Axial and radial adjustment facilities allow the required concentricity to be obtained, in particular on machines with ISO spindles.

Production tolerances of 3 µm for tool diameters, multiple blades and back taper allow demands on the blade to be anticipated. The result is reflected in every bore.

The highest priority for rough boring with PCD tools is the multiple cutting function of the tool. The run-out error measured for the tool on the machine spindle should not exceed 5 µm. For critical bores or fits this should only be a maximum of 3 µm. To monitor this criterion concentricity check points are located on the tool right next to the blades. Here the user can have a direct influence on the tool’s concentricity. The accuracy of the cutting track for the blades can be improved by means of axial and radial adjustment screws, for example on modular tool holders, or simply by turning the tool in the hydraulic chuck.


Configurable parameters

untitledSome of the standard items of HPR with replaceable heads can be customized by KiaCuttingTools Company. Therefore, in case that the customer requires especial parameters in the tool, these semi-standard tools are available by our company. The parameters which are configurable are the blade diameter and grinding dimension or working length.
To avoid confusion, the configured series are called with following C at the end.
